Overview:
Performix Coatings was approached by a customer who was having performance and longevity issues with another coating manufacturers product. After several years of struggling with the other coating and not finding a resolution for the pre-mature failures of their wrestling mats, the manufacturer approached us looking for a lasting solution.
Challenge:
A new specialty coating was required that would not only resolve the performance and longevity issues, but would meet ever tightening EPA regulations. The new coating would also need to meet reasonable cost and manufacturing process perimeters.
Solution:
By working closely with our raw material suppliers, the foam manufacturer and the customer, we leaned hard on our product development team with 120 years combined experience to solve this issue. Not only did Performix Coatings resolve the performance and longevity issues, but the customer also stated that the mats look better than anything they have manufactured in a long time and are very pleased with the outcome.
